I’m skilled with all major computer operating systems, Linux, macOS, FreeBSD, MS Windows, Android, iOS/iPadOS. That’s the thing that runs a computer.
- That means, I can work basically from any device, a smartphone, a tablet, a random PC my mum has at her home. From the spare laptop my in-laws have at their house. If I’m up to work, I’ll find my way to do it, even if I’m happened to forget my MacBook.
I like different OSes.
Computer Systems#
I’m skilled with these Operating Systems
- Linux (Arch Linux, Fedora, RHEL, Gentoo, Debian) is what I use daily, since 2019. As a desktop, and as my OS of choice for all of my servers, alongside with Debian (which I use for my servers since circa 2014).
- macOS (since 2009) is what I use since 2009. I still use macOS for design work here and there. Also, I enjoy learning new things Apple introduce with their Operating Systems.
- FreeBSD (since 2022), I like it for its simplicity.
- It’s not usable for me on a desktop and laptop, but I have once server machine running FreeBSD, for the FreeBSD sake (for now). I plan to expand it.
- MS Windows (since 2000 till 2009). I’m very good with Windows, spent my young years with it. But I don’t like it in any way. I don’t use it, unless I’m forced to.
I read the ‘Sistemas Operativos Modernos’ book by Andrew S. Tanenbaum, and I recommend it to everyone, who is interested in this topic. If you’re interested
I’m good with software too.
My operating system of choice is Linux, Arch Linux. My hardware of choice is MacBook Pro.
- These days, I use mostly my
tiny MacBook AirMacBook Pro for writing texts and my gargantuan desktop computer with every possible hardware hack, and 6 (six) displays. - My MacBook Pro is mostly for travels now, it cannot beat six displays even with M4 processor.
