Random Facts About Me

·3 mins

Here are some random facts about me. I may update this list, as I remember some funny fact.

I am an open-source enthusiast
#

  • I use Arch Linux as my daily driver since early 2019,
  • and I spend most of my time in nvim. This entire website is written in nvim.

Other Things
#

  • I like high fashion

    • My favourite brands (not necessarily of high fashion) that I wear are Massimo Dutti, Marks & Spencer, Scotch & Soda, COS, Hugo Boss, Clarks (one love!).
    • I have some Dolce & Gabbana things I’ve bought while… well, being not too conscious at the moment. I don’t wear them too often, because I don’t really like them.
  • I love perfums,

  • I love shirts,

    • I have a couple of hundreds of them.
    • I wear them at home, I wear them in my workshop, I wear an oversized one at night. Sometimes I cannot stand and buy just one more that I like.
  • I love stationary

    • if I’m at Kinokuniya, it’s impossible to not buy something
    • I have so many things for centuries to come, and more likely my grand-grand children would inherit my collection of pens, pencils, notebooks, etc.
  • I love-hate Apple Tech

  • I like Asian street food

  • I don’t like coffee

    • I do like very rare teas though
  • Once I thought I’m an owl (late person), turned out I’m a lark (early person). My most comfortable time of waking up is 4–5 am.

    • Early mornigns is my favourite time of the day, it’s when I’m most productive.
  • I was raised as a pedant, and I hate it, so I’m working on eliminating it from my person-to-person communication.

    • Same thing with perfectionism. I’m a perfectionist, but I’m doing my best to avoid it, as it just kills many great things in life, and work too.
  • I love The Lord of the Rings novel, I have read it multiple times, and I’ve listened to the Serkis Audiobook countless times.

    • I consider it a work of genius. With no excessive fanatism, I just think it’s very deep.
    • That’s the type of work I consider good. I want to create something meaningful with the same depth.
    • I’m trying to make this website deep too. Like a book you can read, you know.
  • I’m good at writing.

    • I can write multiple languages, but English is my first these days.
    • Sometimes I write in Swedish too.
    • I’m very bad at Ukrainian, but I’m learning. Very slowly. My wife, a Ukrainian, doesn’t want to teach me the language, ‘read the context’ she says, and so I’m reading it, and that’s how I learn.
  • I’m not-so-good at reading, but I love reading.

    • I can read more languages than I can write.
      • I can understand more languages than I can speak.
  • I hated history and geography at school, but I do love them now. I’m better than the most people at them now, because I’m constantly curious, and still learning.
